A clean house just feels nicer: it gives peace of mind and creates a fresh, pleasant atmosphere. But we also understand that cleaning can sometimes be quite a chore. On the occasion of Cleaning Day, our cleaning masters from Multi Masters Group are happy to share their best tips and answer the most frequently asked questions about products, techniques and routines. That way, you can make things easy for yourself and keep your home tidy and fresh for longer.
Materials and products make the difference
You can easily prevent common problems such as streaks on windows or limescale in the shower with the right materials and products. For example, use clean water and good material for streak-free windows, and try not to polish when the sun shines brightly on the glass.
Lime in the shower or on the shower head is best tackled with a product like Forcid Evo, which effectively counteracts limescale. Do you have pets? With a good hoover and the right brush you can easily remove hairs, and with professional odour neutralisers you can keep the house smelling fresh.
Correct order and cleaning agents
With a few smart choices, you will save time and get a better result. Microfibre cloths, for example, hold dirt and dust much better than ordinary cloths. Always start at the top and dust before vacuuming. That way you avoid dust falling back onto the floor and duplicating your work.
Also, always use the right cleaning product for each surface, follow the instructions carefully and always rinse thoroughly. And very important: never mix different cleaning products.
Make cleaning a routine
Instead of cleaning everything in one go once a week, it is much easier to keep up a little bit each day. This will keep your home tidy without making it a big chore. Focus mainly on the rooms that need to be hygienic, such as the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Other rooms can wait.
Don’t forget those places you easily overlook, such as the top of cupboards, under the toilet seat or the door handle of the toilet. For tricky corners, such as under the bed or behind the toilet, a handle with extension is an ideal solution.
Also think about textiles
Cleaning does not stop at the floor or furniture. Change your bedding about every fortnight and give your pillows and mattress a thorough cleaning at least once a year. And speaking of water: cleaning with cold water is often better than with hot water. We’ll be happy to tell you more about that in another article soon.
